What is the best way to keep your bathroom neat and organized?

We are busy and have a very busy household. With 4 kids, lots of work on the farm and kids in numerous activities I don’t have a lot of time to spend in the bathroom. I keep it tidy and clean...most days that is. I found if there is a spot for it, more than likely we all will put away our items after we use them.

I will be talking about ways to organize your bathroom, declutter your drawers and have space for everyone.

What does it mean to get in and out of the bathroom and still look flawless?

I have to admit some days I do get up early just so I can have the bathroom all to myself. With 3 girls (17, 15, and 12), and yes they do have their own bathroom downstairs. We all are upstairs using one bathroom. How do I keep it tidy and neat you ask? Let me share a few tips that I learned over the years.

Why is keeping the bathroom clean and decluttered Important?

I know when we all have to get ready at once, I need time on my side. So if I have all the drawers and products organized it will save us time. We don’t have much for counter space, so I like to use every little inch we have effectively. Like for instance our toothbrushes. We use them 2x a day, I don’t feel like putting away 4 toothbrushes daily. All my kids have a designated spot for them. Let’s talk about our makeup drawer. Let’s be honest, just like our closet we only wear 10% of our close and the same goes for our makeup bag. Keeping your makeup bag simple and clean will cut down on cost and you will not have to worry as much about the expiration date on your products. Personally, I find it rewarding when I can use up a whole product to the end and my reward is looking for a new color or product. It’s like a little shopping treat for me.

How to Start:

1- First take out everything in your cabinets, drawers and countertops and place in another room or a box for now

2- Wipe and clean off your shelving and counters

3- Take your box of all your products, Ask these questions with every product -

Is this product expired?
Will you use this in the next 6 months
On a scale of 1-10 and 10 is LOVE it how do you rate on liking it?

# Tips and Reminders for keeping the bathroom clean

Make sure, if more than one of you is using the bathroom, communicate with other family members where items should go so you are all on the same page. Be the role model, make sure you are following the rules yourself. Giving yourself some grace too, change can be hard but once you dig in you will find it didn’t take as long as you thought and you will enjoy your cleans space and want to keep it that way.
